1. Choosing finishes – when choosing finishes for your accessories and bedside table ensure that they match and compliment other finishes and colours found within the scheme, this will create a cohesive styled look.
2. Avoid overcrowding – it is easy to get carried away when styling and pile everything and anything on top of a small space. But, when styling a bedside table is important to remember that this space also serves a practical purpose, for some it is a spot for table lamps creating pockets of light for reading and for others it’s a space for accessories and jewellery. Outline your main priority and use this as your starting point.
3. A personal touch – a bedside table is the perfect space for adding a personal touch. At TL we love to use photo frames when styling bedside tables, not only does this offer a space for a family photo, it can also introduce textures to play against the backdrop of a headboard or wall.
4. Choosing proportions – we like to use a few items in conjunction with each other of varying heights and dimensions to add interest to a bedside table. A photo frame sat next to a candle and a trinket tray can offer an attractive dynamic of items all in differing sizes. Alternatively, using a small vase and flower arrangement is a great way of adding extra height, use the same on either side of the bed for a decadent symmetrical touch.
