Christmas styling guide
The lead up to Christmas can be stressful, take a read of our Christmas styling guide to create the perfect Christmas dining table and tick one job of your list.
Step one, choose your colour palette, with a wealth of Christmas decorations on offer it can be easy to become overwhelmed, ensure you have a clear direction of the style and colour palette you want to achieve. This year we are loving a Christmas classic; dark emerald green with accents of gold.
Don’t be scared to use gold, it is a great colour to incorporate, it’s festive but neutral and makes a beautiful statement whilst remaining versatile.
Lighting is a fantastic way to create some atmosphere around the table. By using an assortment of candles, you can create pockets of light in the centre of the table, highlighting all the delicious dishes. We prefer to use candlesticks with varying heights to create different levels and to avoid looking too over crowded. If you’re not keen on using real candles there are some great LED alternatives on offer.
No table is complete without some flowers to enhance your colour scheme, we often use faux flowers at TL, there is an ever-growing variety to choose from and bonus – you are able to keep them all year round! This is a great way of introducing more textures and colour to the table.
Last but by no means least, the dining set. This is an investment piece but if you’re in the need of a refresh some new napkin rings could do the trick. Coordinate with serviettes and this will make the perfect pairing. No room left for place holders? Some beautifully calligraphed place holders can be placed on top for that finishing touch.
We can’t wait to start styling our Christmas décor at Tailored Living – we hope this guide offers you some handy tips and tricks. Let us know if there is anything else you’d like a styling guide for!
